A7rii is Released

Sony has just released the much anticipated A7rii with a list of add-ons to make most photographers or enthusiasts happy, but did they answer all the prayers of A series users? With a tech spec list as long as my arm, including possibly the best update for us vintage lens users "IBIS" 5-axis image stabilization for stills and movies, perfect for fast primes that pre-date in lens IS. With the worlds first back illuminated larger 42mp CMOS sensor, allowing better low light performance, a technology that has been used in specialised low light cameras. They've still utilised BionzX image processing software, area-specific noise reduction and 16-bit image processing + 14-bit RAW output. Fast Hybrid AF w. 399-point focal plane phase-detection AF coverage, Thanks to the Fast Hybrid system Auto-focus has gained a 40% increase.

Now how about the battery life? It doesn't look like this has been addressed in the new A7rii, Something that I know a lot of people were praying for. I guess you could always get a battery grip.

Dual card slots? Nope, maybe on the A7riii

The A7rii is heading in the right direction, for such a small foot-print it really does deliver with expectations on what a mirrorless camera can do.

The A7rii comes in at a cool $4,499 AUD direct from Sony - Here
